Peak physical performance is not determined by strength, speed, or power alone, but by how efficiently the body moves, recovers, and adapts to physical demands. Chiropractic care focuses on the assessment and management of neuromusculoskeletal function to support movement quality, comfort, and physical capacity. The spine and peripheral joints play a central role in how the nervous system coordinates movement. Research shows that spinal manipulative therapy (SMT) can influence neuromuscular activation, joint mobility, proprioception, and motor control, all of which underpin efficient biomechanics and athletic skill execution.


Systematic reviews demonstrate that SMT can produce:

  • Improvements in joint range of motion
  • Changes in muscle activation patterns
  • Enhanced proprioceptive input and postural control

While these changes do not always translate directly to competition outcomes, they contribute to more efficient movement strategies, reduced mechanical overload, and improved coordination—key components of sustainable athletic performance.
